To prepare students for a creative career through problem solving, building resumes, real world experience, and a rigorous academic program.
Fine Artistry, Architecture, Video Game Creator/Developer, Event Planner, Art Educator, Art Therapist, Museum/Gallery Curator, Graphic Designer, Production Artist, Industrial Designer, Art Director, Comic Book Artist, Marketing/PR, and many more! The IBCP incorporates the vision and educational principles of the IB into a unique programme specifically developed for students who wish to engage in career-related learning. The IBCP’s flexible educational framework allows schools to meet the needs, backgrounds and contexts of students. Each school creates its own distinctive version of the IBCP. What classes will you be taking as part of the CP?
IB DP Art:
(Junior and Senior Year)- Students will participate in an exploration of a variety of different types of art, art history and methods. Throughout their exploration they will create a Processfolio and Portfolio that will be submitted to IB for the evaluation of and possibility to earn DP and college credit.
The Business of Art:
(Both semesters Junior Year)- Students will explore the various careers within the art world. They will perform various projects from the different lenses of professional art careers as well as work side-by-side with working professionals to create projects, job shadow and volunteer within work spaces.
Portfolio Development:
(First semester Senior year)- Students will learn the value of and evaluate various professional/ amateur portfolios. They will work to put together their own portfolio and will be required to submit their portfolio to a governing body for jurying.
Exhibition Development:
(Second Semester Senior Year)- Students will be required to learn about the art and gallery world. They will participate in gallery visits, artist talks, and the building of their own exhibition. Their culminating project will be submission and acceptance of their artwork to a juried art show.
